    Author guidelines

    Requirements for manuscripts submitted to Pharmacognosy Research (ISSN 0974-8490). Submissions that do not meet these requirements are returned to the corresponding author before peer review.

    Manuscript preparation

    Submit the manuscript as a single editable file with continuous line numbering and double spacing throughout.

    • Title page: full title, running head, author names, affiliations, ORCID iDs and the corresponding author's email.
    • Structured abstract of up to 250 words followed by 4–6 keywords.
    • Main text ordered as Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion.
    • Figures at 300 dpi minimum; tables as editable text, never as images.

    References and citations

    References follow APA 7 with hanging indents and alphabetical ordering; in-text citations must resolve to a listed reference.

    • Include DOIs for every reference where one exists.
    • Cite primary sources; limit unpublished or personal communications.
    • Self-citation should not exceed 15% of the reference list.

    Ethics and declarations

    Every submission carries the declarations required by the journal's editorial policy.

    • Ethical approval and informed-consent statements for studies involving humans or animals.
    • Conflict-of-interest and funding disclosures for all authors.
    • Data availability statement naming the repository or reason for restriction.
    • Similarity screening: manuscripts above the accepted threshold are returned before review.

    Peer review and decisions

    Manuscripts are screened editorially and then sent to at least two independent referees under single-blind review.

    • First decision is normally returned within four weeks of assignment.
    • Revisions must be accompanied by a point-by-point response to each referee.
    • Accepted articles appear in press ahead of issue assignment.
